Well fellas, I did the aux tranny filter install today in the freezing cold. I drove it for about 15 min and noticed that the filter is ice cold. I figured it would be hot like the engine oil filter. Anyway, feel free to put you $.02 in everyone. GO FALCONS!!!!!

It should be very warm at the least...sure you got those hoses on right? If you're using an oil filter they have a back flow gasket in them and if the hoses are on wrong no T-Oil will flow.

Way back when I had mine done in a tranny shop they put the hoses on wrong- I didn't know it until I got into Manhattan and the MIL came on and the tranny started bucking a little. Popped the hoses, actually one blew off when I loosened the clamp enough switched them the right way and it's been fine since.

It should be at least warm. Are you certain you got the correct lines attached?

Yeah, im positive i got the lines right, i tested to see which one was the pressure line too. I let the truck warm up for about 15 min too. If the lines are backwards, my tranny would have been destroyed by now any way. Right? I drove it for at least 15 minutes, and i noticed the shifts improved, especially that 2-3 clunk.

I'll be damned, i did have the lines mixed up. I switched them, drove it, and felt the filter. This time it was warm. Thanks a lot, you guys just saved me from destroying my transmission!!!!!!!
