What's a good way to get this dent out? The pic is hrad to see, but it's about 3"-4" in diameter. Any ideas?

eh?

So take the plastic fender well out. That dent shouldn't be too hard to pound out.

If that is in the rear you be able to acess it from inside and push it out.

LOL, a little hood insulation didn't prevent me from cutting a huge dent out of my VW hood and putting a hood scoop above it!

You should be able to pound most of that out

On that round section it is gonna be next to impossible to make it go away with out using body filler.
It has a bit of a crease. If you don't care if it is perfect then the rubber mallet trick will suit fine.
If you want it perfect, a metal body hammer, a metal dolly, a grinder, and some body filler.

Its lifted, you will probibly make more later on. A hammer is your best friend!!!:hammer:

Well, that will be tomorrow's project.

Happy new year everyone!

i once used a plunger w/some vaseline around the liner and plunged my dent out from the surface... it worked for me... it has to be the right kind of dent though...

hmm, we'll see...

He has the wrong kind of dent! He has to pound that out from the underside. A plunger won't do the trick.

So Alec, is that the reason why you put the hood scoop on the VW?

sort of ;)

Seriously though, a large branch did fall on the hood and it had multiple dents and scratches. The largest one happened to be over the airbox and it alone would have been $200 to professionally fix. It was the only one I had trouble fixing.

Well I pounded it out from the inside, all is well. Now all I have left is the two scratches from where the guy keyed it too... jerk

jeez, what did you do to this guy that he would hit AND key your car?:(

Well I guess I'll have to tell this pathetic story sooner or later...

He had thought that my borther, getting out of my car had put quite a ding in his front fender with the car door. As my brother proceeded to wipe off the evidence of his door from the guys car, he told me about how his fender was ruined and that it needed to be replaced. I calmly told him that I saw no real damage, but if he wanted to file an accident report, I would be happy to call the police partol sgt (a friend of mine) to write up a report. He quickly replyed that that was unnecessary (ya think?) and I thought that was that. When I returned from the store I was going to, I found the damage, and the guy long gone. In addition to making that nice little dent, and keying the car, he bent my glass mount scanner antenna. Some people...

typical chappaqua people.

how's it going man?

glad you got it fixed some what.
the key marks shoulden't be too hard to fix check out the auto parts store in bedford. they gave me some good stuff that got rid of the key marks some kid did to my truck that first day i had a greeley. *******s.

Hey... I'll check the autoparts place, thanks. Yeah, you guessed it, that happened at Greeley. How's your truck comming? I finally got some 32's under mine, so things are going well.
