Well I'm posting a poll to see what kinda response I get for doing a Colors Run hosted by Idaho.

Heres the info:
When: Labor Day weekend(Aug.30th to Sept.2)
Where: Southern ID(Twin Falls to be more exact)
What will we be doing: We will be in the Sawtooth National Forest running every trail we got. From serious water crossings to extreme hill climbs to very slick rocks. A few members have said they want more so we will go about a 1/2 mile north of Twin Falls and play out there. This area is what we call an "Open Area." We can play on everything. There is also a trail called "Devils Corral" that is our proving grounds. I have done only the first section of this trail in my rig but us big dawgs can run it. I'd say with atleast 5-10 rigs that'll take up a big portion of a day. But hey don't click away stockers, we got more then enough for you. Have you ever wanted to really see what your stock X can do??? Come on up and I'll show you!!;) We got some of the funest stuff to do that a stock Explorer can do. You'll go home thinkin wow I can't beleive my truck can do that. It'll surely amaze you.:) I always was when mine was stock.

If you guys don't feel the need to do that and you want to stay in the mountains thats no big deal. We can stay up there for free. That includes trailers and RVs if ya got them. If not I can provide tents, food, drinks, and whatever you need. I got the hook ups!!:D

Heres a map showing Twin Falls. The Green at the bottom is the South Hills. If you look at Twin Falls you'll see where the Snake River goes by. The Open Area is just on the other side of the river.

I checked yes, I think it would be fun, I loved the CCR2001 run and would like to do some more runs in that area but would love to get out of CO too, and since I have a friend in Twin Falls that I havent seen in years it would be another good reason to go, so lets have at it ID here we come!!!!

How far is that from Mc Derrmit? If not that far than I'm in.

There's a new invention called Mapquest...

If it were a little earlier, I'd go...otherwise, I'd be living in Texas and that's too long of a drive...Keep us updated

Hey Derrick, I voted "borderline" only because I'd like to see a bit more info (I'm such a PITA! ;)). For instance, would we be running actual rated trails, or just kind of winging it? I don't really mind either way, but if they are named trails, would it be possible for you to post a few links to reviews/pics of 'em? I think that might get some people more interested and answer my questions... Thanks! :)

Chris, I will be getting the pics from one of the areas back today. As for the trails, we will be running in the mountains like porcupine pass, cliffhanger, and the old road into Nevada. I can't get pictures of these yet. I made a run up there yesterday and the smorning but can't get back there cause of the amount of snow. If a few other rigs wanted to go I could but everyone is working and I don't push it by myself. As far as I know there isn't any where on-line to get info on these trails.

The only thing I can tell you is this will be a very good combination for both stock and not so stock rigs. There are a few places along these trails that will require you to cut inbetween trees and sagebrush. You'll get scratched but you can buff it out. I promised Heath he wouldn't go home without being 100% happy it was worth it.

As for the pics I got yesterday, I took of the "Open Area" across the river in Twin Falls. They'll be here in a few hours. I got of some stuff we made last year and I took pics of "Devils Coral" which I'm going to have to run the whole trail before the Colors Run. There are a few spots that are going to be of high difficulty and I really want us to run this trail. But all in all wait for the pictures to get here before making your decision.

Here is the entery to Devils Corral. Keep in mind you kinda have to use your imagination here. In this pic you have to squeeze between that big rock on the left. Its a tight fit but you can manage.

This is another pic of the entry. This is what it looks like if you were to go into Devil Corral.

Heres one of several interesting spots. It gets mighty tight but passable.

This is probably the toughest spot. You've got a big hole in the middle with several ledges all the way down. Long wheel base helps alot here. On the way back out expect some big air up front from this spot.

Heres the last section of the trail. Multiple drop-offs with two big drops at the end. See the next pic to get a view of what it looks like coming back out.

Heres a little section of our stocker stuff. This is two photos put into one so you'll have to live with it, sorry.
We have it kinda set up like T-Haven. Just steep inclines with a hint of off camber stuff. Alot of stuff with alot of flex.

Those are just the pictures from the #2 area we can run if you guys want to. You guys will have to wait until the mountains let me back in there. We still have 48" at the base with 86" at the top. It'll be awhile but I'll get them ASAP.

Remember though we got till Sept. to get this figured out, so don't get in a huge hurry.:)

Looks intriguing! :) Look forward to seeing more when you have it...

Would you guys that said "yes" or "maybe" be interested in a half and half kinda run? I've got a buddy that works for the forest service and he told me today that they'll be closing some trails this year for maintence. He couldn't tell which ones but he said it'd be a few. So I figured we can do some other trails that never close.

I can get to these trails right now but I have to wait to get my locker rebuilt cause theres about 2 feet of good ole Idahoan goo out there.

Also with the area across the Snake River will also be a really scenic ride. We will come across the Oregon Trail and see a few graves of people that traveled it. And you can see where Evil Knievel made his attempt to jump across the river. The only thing I ask for is come here with an open mind. I know most of you guys are from areas where you don't make your own trails and what not. Here we do and we can. We can be driven down a dirt road and see something that looks fun and just stop and try it. Though this goes for the area across the river not the mountains.
