Idle issues 2013 Explorer Limited

2013 Explorer has varying up and down idling and when a/c is on and making a sound at front of engine. Anyone else experience these issues? Any idea what it is? Thanks in advance.

The sound you hear when the A/C is on could be the compressor kicking in and out. The A/C should not result in a perceptible change as far as the RPM's go. If you have changing RPM's when in idle is could be a fuel delivery issue or some other component (throttle body?). Does it run well when you are driving?

Yes, it runs fine when driving. It does have a vacuum issue with the gas fill that keeps the check engine light one and has become hard to start sometimes.

How many miles are on the car?

The sound at the engine is the troubling part. Is the sound only when the AC compressor is on? Is the sound coming from the timing chain area/internal water pump - regardless of AC being on?

Mine will occasionally stumble when idling with the A/C on. It's inconsistent, but usually happens within a few minutes of starting, before it warms to operating temperature. It's happening on just about every car I've owned, as far as I recall.
