OK guys I have a problem that maybe someone can diagnose for me. My 2002 Explorer XLS 4.0 4x4 with 101,000 miles, idles rough and at times will stall when stopped in gear (like at a traffic light) It started soon after having timing chains all replaced. I've had it checked by a Ford tech friend of mine and no real issues could be found (no vac leaks, no misfire, cylinder balance good etc) He is stumped also. I replaced plugs and wires, cleaned IAC, cleaned throttle body, PCV is working, etc) It has helped some but still not as good as it was. What else can I check to get my Explorer idling more like it should/did? I have searched here and have done or checked things in other threads concerning idle issues
