Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been on but I'm in serious need of assistance. Driving around town today the X decided to almost die. with the petal to the floor I can't get over 20 MPH. It decided to jump and buck and stumble all over the place. it did catch a few times and straighten out for a few seconds with a very loud and hard thud. But now with it parked It idels at about 400 which is low but I put it in drive and it drops to about 200. First think I thought was vacuum but everythings seems good there unless it's on the metal line going to the trans. Unplugged MAF with no change. New fuel pump, fuel and air filter, and plugs. I wouldn't ask for help like this if it wasn't a daily driver and my wifes truck isn't legal at the moment meaning I can't go to work on an army base with no registration.

After further frustration i found that I am getting no spark at the numbers 1 and 5 plugs, which from the coil, are corresponing on the coil.

Engine Cylinders =
3 --- 4
2 --- 5
1 --- 6

Coil Pack =
3 --- 4
2 --- 6
1 --- 5

would it be safe to assume based on the previous post that I have a bad coil pack and should start there? Being down two cylinders would cause the symptoms I would think.

Did this problem start before or after you replaced the plugs, etc. (is it possible that you whacked something out of place while doing other work)? How old are the plug wires?

Sounds like a coil pack, but I would look at the first two questions first.

Also, have you checked for codes?

Mike
