so i was installing some foglights onto my explorer, its a 2000 xlt awd w/ 5.0 v8. i pulled out the center console to mount the switch and low and behold there was a box! haha. it had a couple of wires coming from it, and looked kind of about the size of a dvd rom for a computer and is a silver metal case. i bought the truck used. i am the 3rd owner, and to my knowledge its not equipped with the message center found on mountys and eddie bauers. anyone have idea what it could be? if its for the message center than sweet. haha. if not, its an extra 1lb on my future 1/4 mile times. haha. YES! i would post a picture but dont know how to. im new here. tell me how and i shall post away.

there are lots of silver boxes mounted with wires coming out of them all over your trucks interior.

It might be a case for a CD changer that was taken out and now all you have is the case...my '98 explorer has one but I am looking to take it out.
