Hey, just to give anyone who has there front bumper damaged, or bumper looks twisted after an accident.
I bought a new bumper, thought mine was twisted, well it wasn't.
After removing the bumper, the mounting plates were the only thing that really needed to be replaced.
Don't be afraid of removing the bumper and getting some new mounting plates, might save you some $.

mounting plates?

how would you go about replacing the mounting plates? not being sarcastic, my bumper is bent because my wife can't drive. i think i recall reading in a haynes manual that there are little posts on the inside of the bumper that go through a bracket on the frame, and screwing a nut on the end of this little post secures the bumper to the frame. i think in my case one or two of these little posts could be bent thus bending the whole damn thing. does what i'm talking about in any way resemble what you are talking about?

the mounts on the frame rail ARE replaceable. You will need an arc welder though. I have some pics, I need to get off my lazy a$$ and do a write up.

hi there, i'm new here, but have worked in body shops for about 10 years. for the mounting plates, i do think (if memory serves me right) you can bend the tops or bottoms of the mounting plates, you could use a crescent wrench and a bar, and that should do the trick.
