So last night with a fresh layer of snow on the parking lot I decided that as I was backing up that I would whip my explorer around put it in gear and pop the clutch. You know that a clear parking lot with some nice slick snow always means donuts. Anyway when I popped the clutch it didn't go anywhere. At first I thought it wasn't quite in gear. I had it in gear and it was clicking but not going anywere. I tried to move it in and out of 4x4 to see if the TC would catch, but nothing. After putting it in 4x4 it doesn't click now. It's not even in gear. Doesn't pull at all. Any ideas. It's at the shop and I'm hoping I don't need a new TC. We'll see.

maybe you busted the TC motor doing it or you broke the transfer chain in your tc

Ooo popping the clutch is never a good idea >< I get chills down my spine any time I even think about my poor drivetrain getting all that power shocked through it all at once. Going backwards is probably alot worst for the system too since the driveline has to reverse all that rotational mass, somethings bound to break. I work in a heavy duty shop and every once in a while a driver decides to pop the clutch in a Semi....dunno how drivers think driveline components can handle the massive power those diesels put out, specially with a load on the axles :P Hope its nothing major
