I'm new here and I want to tell my story.

Hey hello all, I haven't been here since Feb. when I was having problems with the car. I was watching youtube as how to fix my old Honda. I remember this site and what I used on my 96 Explorer. After half a year the car it's running very good! All thanks to you guys. You told me it was a probably a cracked cylinder head and to put K-Seal. I had forgotten what the problem was and what the name of the product was. I just remembered, something Seal. I might just make it to February 2021 and retire it to the State for $1500. No other major problems except that is old and ugly to some people. But that's how I like my cars... Not my women. But that's what I might get there too.
Thank you a million... and thanks K-Seal. Now I'm sounding like a commercial. :):bounce:
Hello I'm back almost 2 year and many miles later.
No problems with the car and very happy with the K-Seal fix.
But the engine light just came back and it's starting to misfire again.
Question: can K-Seal be used a second time around. This time I just want it to work a couple or months more.
I'm going to clean the spark plug too. If it works good if not, it's OK. If not I can't ask for more. Why do some people bad mouth K-Seal?
I wouldn't use it on a newer expensive car though.
Thanks again.

Yeah...you can add another bottle....
Glad to hear the first treatment got you this far.
Off topic, but is your Explorer a 4X ?

I agree on the plug wire. I had an intermittent #7 misfire which I initially thought was an intake gasket leak. I came to that conclusion after monitoring the Long Term Trim Fuel % readings. By accident I was able to "catch" a misfire spark emitting from the plug wire. A simple fix. By the way, I am thumbs up to the K-Seal. I used it on my 99 5.0 (251K miles) which had a minor water pump gasket leak. I also used the K-Seal block sealer on my 2016 Fusion which had a cylinder #3 coolant leak caused by a factory block casting defect. A local shop did a cylinder leak down coolant test and informed me of the Ford TSB. Ford in their TSB called it a "porosity" defect. It was causing coolant to migrate thru the block casting into the cylinder causing a P0303 misfire cylinder #3 code. The only solution was to replace the engine block. Since the Fusion had 116K miles, it was out of warranty. I wasn't going to spend $8K to replace an engine so I spent $35 on the K-Seal Block sealer. That was 2 months and 4K miles ago. I haven't lost any coolant and no more misfire codes.

Diagnose that it isn't some other issue first. Are the plugs, wires and coil good?
You can add another bottle.

I wouldn't be shocked if new cars leave the factory with light sealing chemicals in the coolant that do no harm. Could be in certain applications, and it gets into the casting pores for life.
Better than a 10K warranty engine replacement.

I had the misfire issue with a 4.0 OHV in my 00 Ranger right after purchasing it would foul the #- 4 plug every couple months. I kept replacing the spark plug when it would start to miss, plus I was loosing coolant also. After about 1 year of replacing the spark plug I pulled the engine apart & found cracked cylinder heads. Replaced the cylinder heads with 2 new heads & it has been fine for about 4 years now.

Had the exact same problem on my 98 with the 4.0, same cylinder and everything.
