So last night I got home it was colder than you know what outside. Thought it a good idea to take the cd out of the player and the faceplate off. Reach inside the car turn the key to get the power on without the engine started and somehow (stupidly) I left the key in the ignition set like that all night (and today as well.) and locked the doors. Well just went on a hunt for my keys and discovered this and the battery is of course dead so the FOB doesn't work, the keypad doesn't work and for some reason my spare won't budge the cylinder lock. What do I do?????????

HELP Please!!!!!!!!!!

97 XLT 4 door

I take it you've tried the spare key in all the lock cylinders?

If so, you might try crawling under the vehicle to see if you can get jumper cables to any part of the ignition system to provide power from another battery so the doorpad or key fob will work...

gawd, 6666 posts...I'm in trouble...

Well good news and thanks for the replies

Tried all the locks and they wouldn't budge. Went to the tailgate one last time and played with the lock and it finally budged so I can get in through the back. Why won't the door cylinders work with the key in this situation??
They won't budge at all like something is physically holding them down.

The lock cylinders freeze up from using the keyfobs all the time. Spray a little WD-40 in them and work the key in and out, and back and forth and they will usually work free.
