Snap Snap

well, it was kinda funny, my little brother stretched out underneath the beast holding onto the wrench for dear life while i have my breaker bar just pushing away, then all of a sudden SNAP, and you hear two screams bellow out at the same time, mine from being thrown across the garage, and his from smashing his knuckles against the frame. now, my question is, how do i get this bolt out of the bushing? or do i need to just buy new bushings? if so, anyone have a part number and or price on them? thanx

Seems to me like you need someone a little more knowledgable about doing this. You could get seriously hurt just "playing around" with things. IMO.

well, i wish we were playing around. i just found it humorous when i really shouldve been more pi$$ed off, but hell, whatever.

Which bolt?

If it was the front bolt(first 1, in the engine compartment) then it would be not much of a problem. You would just have to drill it out. I have read that many people have snapped that front bolt. If it wasn't the first, then there should be part of the bolt sticking out. Put two nuts on there and wrench it out from the bottom of the the bushing.

Try a junk yard before ordering a new one.

um... maybe i missed somethin... but if yer doin a 3in body lift... it should have all new bolts, and ya shouldnt have to buy any... also.. most everything can get chucked that ya take out... cause on my 91, i dont remember reusing anything

Hartman, just to let ya know, ya can't get hurt seriously putting on a bodylift. Really the worst thing that can happen is what happened in this case: minor bruises and scratches.

new bolts

i have the new bolts, but the old bolts that snapped are stuck in the bushing. i thought you reused this? am i wrong?

Oh, shows how much I know. I stand corrected.
