Not sure how to say this but stock that 14.7 MPG is about as good as it gets if you are doing stop and go and some highway. I have a 2004 4.6L V8 and quite a few mods but even when I drive very careful I still only might get 15 driving some stop go and the highway and the back to stop and go. However stock on the highway cruising around 60 MPH I think it would max out at 22 MPG. I now can get 25 - 26 mpg at that same speed. Is it worth the cost of the mods? Maybe but I like the sound of the exhaust and that it self is worth the price so the extra MPGs are $$ in the bank. Hope that helps.
