I have a stock 94 XLT with 3.73 gears ratio. I have only had it for a few months and have noticed a lack of power from a engine that is 4.0 Litres.

I have noticed that with moderate accelleration (sp?) that as soon as I hit 60Kph (or just about 60) the power seems to increase and I start to go faster even know I have not pushed down on the gas any more than what I was already doing.
If I gun it off the mark I don't see this issue, but with light to moderate acceration, as soon as I hit 60Kph it seems to jump up and go.

Any ideas? No codes and no warning lights.

Thanks for your help.

IIRC the power curve for the OHV v6 is in pretty high RPMs, when you hit about 60kph your RPMs are higher and you start to get deeper into the curve. As for the power issue, the OHV in general was made to give more torque than horses, it only pushes 160hp...
