Indash tv shopping...

It works and can be controlled via the W200. They just don't advertise it on their site because you're not supposed to have video up front anyway.

It uses the brown/white wire as a repeater to send signals from the touch screen (W200) to the piece (KCE-415i). This is the same brown/white wire that allows touch screen control for the TV tuner (TUE-151).

I confirmed this with the tech guys at Alpine.

Jluv - Does this adapter take the place of the iPod cable adapter and include all of the funtionality that you get from the cable adapter?

The normal Ipod cable (KCE-422i) plugs into a dedicated Ipod input on the back of the W200. That allows you to control all of the search functions from the touch screen. It only carries an audio signal, though.

The Ipod video adapter (KCE-415i) is a small black box that connects to the AUX input on the back of the W200 via RCA cables. You can then use the touch screen to Play, Pause, Rewind, Advance, and Stop. You can't access playlists or search from the touch screen, but you can from the Ipod itself.

You could use both, and switch the Ipod from one cable to the next depending on what you're doing. Or, of course, you could have two Ipods, one regular and one video. That's probably what I would do, but I'm using the AUX input for something else.

Wow! I'm wondering if it is easier to just put those videos on a CD and play them there. This sounds like a bit of a hassle.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I've been wanting an iPod, now I just want one more.

So has anyone had an issues with their motorized screen clearing the AC Vents? On my '01 sport the vents pop out a little and im just curious as to whether or not there is enough space...

I've got a Sony XAV-7W it clears the vents no worries at all, doesn't connect to I-pod tho.. not that I'm bothered, it's got a 10 disc DVD changer with it and it works and does everything I want it to do..

the pics are in the headrest screen install sticky

I have the Alpine w200 in my superduty. I am very impressed with this unit and I do throw a DVD on my dash quite often. Just about every time I go to the lake I have a 50 minute trip each way, plenty of time to catch a movie.

The Ipod cable on this is awsome, you control playlists and all

The sirius radio controls are nice as well, but I can't figure out if I can search without changing channel and see what songs are on other stations like a stilletto set I was using.

Anybody used the GPS units in these?

WIth the SIrius, you can't browse other stations to see which songs are playing via the W200. That would be cool, though.

What do you mean by using the GPS unit in these?
