I've searched this site extensively, trying to figure the # of the warning/caution lights in the instrument cluster (CEL, ABS, etc) and I've come up with a multitude of responses: #161 , #74 , #37 . There seems to be a consensus as to the illumination bulbs (#194) but there is quite a variance on the warning/caution lights.

Fordparts isn't very clear, but I think they're specifying #37 for the warning/caution lights and #161 s for the A/C panel backlight.

Does anyone know for sure which bulb is used for for warning/caution lights in the instrument cluster on a '98 XLT? Thanks.

Quick follow up.

I was right. Six #194 bulbs for cluster backlight, 16 #37 bulbs for the warning/caution lights, and two #161 bulbs for the manual A/C and heater control panel backlight. Still trying to find bulbs for the 4x4 switch, external light knob, rear defroster, and fog lamps.
