95 ranger splash
have a 95 Ford Ranger Splash with indiglo lights on when I bought it. On the instrument panel that is. When I turn the headlight switch on sometimes they come on for a brief secound then go out. Sometimes they come on for a while then just go out. Sometimes I can flick the headlight switch on and they come on then go out. I have replaced the headlight switch twice and didnt work..Also I have checked the ground wire and it seems to be good..I went under the dashed and wiggled the wired to see if there was a connection problem and the lights didnt blink at all..Any ideas I may be missing..Thx. Im allen btw and nice site that is here..Very helpful..

well those have to be wired into the headlight switch, so even though your lights are on they might have a short, alot of people like to jimmy rig these days.

what i would do, is track the wires from right where they start, to where they end, check all fuses, (i replaced ALL my fuses with LiteGlow, easy and cheap, save alot of time too)

what id even do it just totally re-wire them so you know theyre done right, and if still they do that, then you might need to see if whoever you bought it from can get you the reciept and replace them.

or if its no big deal to you, just get some of those little pods with 3 LED's that you can aim, and put them on the top of your steering column and plug them into your cig lighter, and aim them at your gauges.
that would be a great example of jimmy rigging and laziness all in one though lmao.

hey if you know how the previous guy installed it i would love to know. ive been thinkin about puttin some in myself. e-mail me at Mstrblstr23fred@aol.com

The indiglo lights use a DC-DC power inverter. There is the possibility that the inverter is going belly up.

from what i have learned with the whiteface indiglow gauges most of the cheap sets from ebay cant be wired to headlight switch they have to be run with the stick on power button that comes with the gauges

anyone figure out how to wire ebay sets with having to use stickon button?

You need to have the stickon button because it has the brightness and color settings for the gauges. It doesn't mean that you need to have it showing, tap the hot wire off of the parking light wire (You don't want it with the interior lights on the dimmer, the inverter needs 12v) so that they go on with the parking or headlights.

Once you get the settings the way you like it, hide the stick on button up under the dash, in a place where you can still get to it just in case you want to change the settings.
