Is there such a thing my friend said those are better than kappas? And he also said kappas have good highs and lows so i really didn't need tweeters is that true?

I would assume you are talking about the speakers, not the subs. The perfect series only comes in component speakers with a 6.5" woofer. A component system is a woofer, tweeter, and passive crossover; all of which are separate pieces. The Kappa's come in 2-way, 3-way, and component systems. Infinity's speakers are not really known for their mid-bass, so your friend is kinda wrong there. Good midrange and highs though. The Perfects are expensive, much more so than the Kappa component set, and way more than a set of 2- or 3-way Kappa's. With the 2- and 3-way systems you don't have to worry about mounting the crossover and tweeter, or wiring them all together. But the component system will sound much better due to an independent woofer and independent tweeter.

Hope that helped a little,

Steve

It's debatable. I don't know if the new Kappas have rotating tweeters anymore to help out. However, it's preferable to have good speakers positioned correctly than it is to have great speakers misplaced. It wouldn't be so great if you had great speakers that didn't face you, etc, cause you wouldn't get the benefit of those great highs you thought you paid for since they wouldn't be on axis

So it's a tradeoff. How much of a difference is there in SQ between the different sets, and how much you could(n't) benefit from the ability to reposition speaker angles. You'll have to decide for yourself.

Go with the perfects, they have a better name anyways

You will need a tweeter as most speaker that are of the cone style 61/2, 51/4 and so on can not reproduce the Hi's that a small tweeter can.
There are some difs between the kappa and perfect.
The perfects have a cast aluminum basket and a aluminum cone. They also come with a better crossover. If you are not into competeing then you do not need Perfects

Also as far as I know, currently the Perfects are only available in 6.5" size. Which means you would have to make custom adapter plates to fit them in the stock location. I think they are coming out with 5.25" ones soon though.

i would suggest going with what fits

They all fit, except for the 6x9's, but it's a matter of making them fit. To mount a 5.25" speaker you still need an adapter plate, but you dont' have to make your own. Crutchfield sells them for $10 or free with 5.25" speaker purchase. It's easy to make an adapter plate for the 6.5", but it's just something that has to be almost exact to clear the door panel, and the window.

Steve

You can get 6X9 in the front door it takes alittle work and you have to find ones that are not really deap.

I've never seen a 6x9 in a front door, I'm not saying it can't be done, I've just only seen them in the back. In my opinion 5.25" and 6.5" speakers sound better anyways.

Steve

again, i would definitly go with what fits. Cutting extra stuff out of your door will suck if you ever want to change to components or something. i donno my opinion is to go with the 6x8's, and not worry about the 6x9's because im sure the 6x9;s will sound just as good.

Most people, including myself, feel that the round (5.25" and 6.5", etc.) speakers sound much better than the oval (6x8 or 6x9, etc.) The bass response is much better and cleaner. You don't see too many oval woofers out there do ya? (Acutally I think Kicker made or still makes a 6x9 woofer) Go with a 5.25" coaxil or component set. You'll be happy.

Steve
