I have Infinity references in the front and Polk DX7's in the back. It amazes me how much better the Infinity speaker's bass is. Why do my Polks sound like crap? I have Dynamat speaker sheets just around where the speaker goes up front, but not in back. They didn't seem to do much. Anyway, thanks.

Just curious.... but........ why did you mix the speakers that way?

Thanks...

To be honest, I'm pretty cheap. I hate spending money. I got the Infinity's brand new for $50 bucks! The guy only had one pair. So after my Fords crapped out in back, I went out and found the best deal. $75 for Polks. I originally got them for $150 from Circuit City, but they were open box off the wall and I thought that was dumb so I took them back.

Never heard the Polks, but I like the bass outta my Infinitys too! Very nice.

hmmm. i never heard a bad review about the polk dx series. every time i heard them they sounded perfect. and actually, i never heard an infinity 5X7 that had good midbass. the midrange and highs are really nice with the infinitys, but most installs need a component system to get the midbass. without a component setup, the music sounds empty.

Most purists hate EQ, but hell I'm not pure. If I set the EQ right, I get some really nice midbass from my References. Couple that with some SRV, and the whole cabin is awash with warm midtones. Man, I love my new HU!

Well, once the polks broke in, they sound really good. It sounds like I have 8 inch subs in the backseat. The only problem is I haven't dynamated the doors in back so the plastic barrier rattles like crap.
