about 6 months ago i changed my dash lights to blue in my 02 mounty (except speedo, etc) and all was well till a few weeks ago

for some reason my info, setup and reset buttons no longer light up or work when i push them. so i figured ok it must just be the button thing ill just swap it out..

well just for giggles i put a multimeter on the harness where 12v should be coming out and well...no voltage...

so did i somehow short out that function of the info center...i checked all the fuses harnesses and it all seems in tact.

now the next weird thing is that i was toying around with it and put 12v into where it should be coming out of the harness and all the interior lights came on as they would when its night..which confirms that the wires are all in tact still...
anyone have a clue as to what would cause this?

nevermind...just fixed it

how??????

turns out where the green wires (data I'm assuming) attached to the harness the rubber insulation was still in tact but the copper inside wasn't..

as was the 12v+

i found this out by just eliminating the harness and soldering it straight to my buttons for a little troubleshooting

so once that worked i reconnected the harness and fixed the wires..

i did however accidentally destroy the setup button in the process:(
