Info on a amp

1000 watts? what exactly are you going to be pushing with an amp like that? for a good quality amp that pushes 1000 watts rms your looking at clost to 1000 dollars for the amp. most quality amps you pay about a dollar a watt give or take a few dollars. i have a rockford fosgate amp that is pushing around 400 watts rms of true power and that is more than enough for all of the differnt sub combinations that i have put in my truck.

i wouldnt say quite 1000 dollars. you can get them for around 600 or so.

my ppi a600 is upgraded to put out about 7-800 at 4 ohm and i have it at 2 ohm. so its pushin close to if not 1k watts

I have an Orion HCCA 250r that will push over 1200 watts rms. Why the hell do you want class D? the only reason people run them is b/c they run a bunch of them for competitions. Your electrical system will be able to handle 1 high current, might as well go with the best. I want $350 plus shipping.

i'm not sure i follow you. a class d or a multichan amp would do the same thing. one does it bridged and the other does it on its own. Class D's are nice because they're efficent and usually reasonably cheap.

If you have heard the two amps you would definately know there was a difference. Class D's are only good for use with certain tones....usually 35~50hz.
High current pump out power anytime you want it. all Im saying if you wont get as much out of a class D unless you are competing with it. period

regulator-

From what I've researched, and what the guys here on the board have told me, it seems like a good amp to push 2 Infinity Perfects. The price is a bit higher than I wanted to spend. Is the price negotiable at all?

I sold the exact amp last year for $460. Bought it back from the kid for $350 b/c he needed money and he is my friend. The price isnt too high, but I can do $350 shipped. I will entertain offers for trades. The amp is worth well over $425. It would bang those perfect nice man. I had it on a set of JL W3's and it slammed. Metallic red finish, your gonna have the bling bling.

IM me at Prymas39. Your email address is so familiar, I know we've dealt with each other before. Maybe you know some guys with the hookup on another set of 18's or you want a set of 20's and hand me down your old set. Hit me back playboy

why would people run amps that cant get above 50hz in a competition ? many have higer limits then that. they are good for more then just competitions. and they dont top out at 50, its closer to 250.

Bullsh!t.....
Do your homework buddy then come back and appologize to me, I am the stereo god of this forum.

250hz? are you serious? or you just trying to get a laugh out of everyone....are you running 8 inch woofers or something. 250 is almost midbass frequency buddy...

Whoa! there lets calm down now this isn't sound domain's forum or anything. We don't use these message boards as a way of proving someone is smarter or knows more about something than another person. The boards are used to help everyone gain knowledge and enjoy their Explorers more.

Sorry Steve dog, I dont like when people give out bad information to people, Ill keep it clean ....
Lamah- Im sorry do you forgive me ;)

Just to let you all know:

MTX Thunder 1000d - Freq. Response - 20-200Hz
Rockford Fosgate Power bd1000a1 - 20-250Hz

These are 2 really popular class D's and the do get up in the 200Hz range although I'd take advatange of a crossover and set it @ 80Hz and below for subs.

Steve

apparently your not the god of car audio. I asked the opinion of #caraudio@efnet, which has quite a few acctual installers and they all agree that it is a lot higer then 50hz.

and i never said that you should run the amp to 250hz. i said thats what there good too

Can't we all just get along?

yes, if people wouldnt be so arrogant. "i am the audio god of this forum" isnt very modest if you ask me.

anyways ... back to helping out the people who initially posted this thread ...

Its a joke, usually I am not so concieded.....
For real though, if I am bothering you by relaying correct information then just say so. I will say one thing...I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CLASS D AMP RUNNING ABOVE 75HZ. with subs there is no need anyways to run them above that. I am sorry for offending anyone. Ya heard?

The point is Class D amps can go above the 50-80Hz range but with any amp on your subs it's not good too set the crossover above 80Hz

Steve

I dont think this argument is ever going to end. So lets talk about something else now in this post. How is the weather where you guys live? Its cold here in RI.

How bout we talk about if I should buy this Orion amp with the Infinity Perfect speakers and will it THUMP? Also, can a screwed up wiring job make a sub and amp sound like crap?

not only will it sound like crap but you can ruin your amp and speakers and if you put your ground in a wrong spot as well as other things can lead to this problem you will have a whine through your speakers when you hit the gas or when you turn on your wipers you will hear interferance through your speakers. i personally am a rockford person but orion amps are also good and if you go to a few web sites you can price out that amp. i looked one up after i read this post and i saw it for about $650 but i dont know if that was an outdated price.
