I got flowmaster force II exhaust system with 50 muffler for my 95 4.0L and i cant start installing it because the stock bolts that connect the inlet pipe to the cat are completely rusted. I have to get it installed today, should i cut the bolts off? not sure what i should cut them off with, and if i do will auto zone have the same spring bolts that are now rusted? and i did search haha thanks

They're studs on the cat. You can cut them off. I found a perfect-fitting socket and breaker bar works fine with extremely rusted bolts. And some PB Blaster.

where did you get replacement blots at

I never cut it, but you could get them at any hardware store.

You can buy flange repair kits that come with the spring bolts and jam nuts.

Ohhhhhhh.. for some reason I was thinking the flange-cat.

why does the cat need t ocome off? the flowmaster system installs behind the cat.....

This is cat outlet-muffler inlet.

why don't you have a muffler shop cut and well it onto the pipe for you? If you have all the parts, the labor shouldn't be more then $30.

ok from the wording it sounded like inlet flange to the cat was jacked up... not that the cat outlet to the new exhuast flange was jacked... differnt story then...

i ended up using a sawzall to remove the bolts holding the inlet pipe to the cat, and got a spring and bolt pack made for a chrysler but it fits good
