HELP!!! I have a 96 Xplorer Ltd with the JBL system...I need to remove the factory sub and amp to replace them with an aftermarket set, while still maintaining the OEM Head Unit and system...does anyone have a schematic or instructions on how to do this??? The OEM system works fine, just need to replace from the subwoofer amp back, thanks in advance...

What you can do is tap into the rear speaker wires, most amps allow for this, look for an amp that says it has speaker level inputs.

Are you looking for a unit that fits into the same spot, if so look at the MTX thunderform, the JL audio box, or the Q-Logic box.
If you use the MTX model i'd recommend getting the un amped one and using a MTX 4122 to power it, heard an X with this and it sounded good, not a ton of bass but it filled in sound.

thanks, do you know which wires I need to cut from the JBL system to bypass the subwoofer amplifier to install the aftermarket amp to run with the OEM Head Unit???

Kicker makes an unbelievable subwoofer for the size specially made for ford sub replacement.
