I just installed a Pioneer 7700 into my 98 Mountaineer, Everything went smoothly until i noticed my power antenna doesnt go up. How do i hook this up to an aftermarket head unit. Ive never done an install on a car with a power antenna and am confused. I am also going to run an amp and 2 10s as well, but i havent finished the box yet.
Thanks for the help

The HU harness will have a wire for the power antenna lead.

On the wireing harness for the cd deck there should be a wire for "Power Antenna", all you have to do now is find which wire off the stock harness is for the power antenna and connect them.

Did you hack the harness or get an adapter? CC has the adapter that goes right from the HU to the factory harness. So everything will work with no guessing.

Ihave the 8600
I just checked online at pioneer manuals and looked in my book same thing

It is a blue and white wire that is connected to the power antenna...

isnt the blue and white wire the remote wire to connect to an amp. is it ok to run both on the same wire. what wire do i connect it to?

and i bought a harness, didnt hack the stock one.

well.. you could put it on a relay, for 5 bucks its a good way to make sure you don't blow the circuit.., my explorer has neither, but when I had my old car, thats what I did, rather than worry about it.

In many many cases I use the amplifier turn on and antenna from the same wire. If you are really worried about it you could use the accessory wire. If you use the accessory, the antenna will not retract when you turn off the radio.

the blue wire is low voltage neither ur amp or power antenna will pull power from this, all the purpose is, is the impulse that comes from the headunit coming on. it uses the current to act as a relay and kicks the amp on only when the headunit on and same for the power antenna. it will not hurt anything if u put both on the same wire. Hope that helps ya...lata
