So I am installing the cam tensioner in my motor, and according to "mikeh"s guide...the cam tensioner is supposed to be able to be finger tightened all the way to the block. I am out working on my car and there is no way I can even get it close with finger tightening. Ive tried it a hundred times and I am fairly confident that I am not cross threading or anything like that...

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, my X is all ripped apart so the sooner the better....

oh its tightening its just getting progressively harder and I am required to use the 1 1/16" wrench

yea, i just want to verify that this indeed fits my vehicle and it is some kind of mistake on my end....

Just hit the starter key a short second. That way the chain inside will loosen a little and you'll be able to screw the tensioner all the way in. Just let the engine rotate 1/8'th of a revolution.

This is not a safe way to solve the problem!

i just got a new part and it worked fine...the threading on the other one must have been bad although visually it looked fine
