I'm planning on installing a 4-channel amp soon and 4 new door speakers. I have no clue whether or not I have a factory amp. Along with the amp and speakers, I am putting a dvd monitor in at the same time. So, basically it will be an entire audio overhaul. My question is:

Will it matter if I don't bypass the factory amp if I just run all new speaker wire from the amp to the speakers? My thinking is it won't matter because the speakers will not have any factory wiring going to them.

Also, how hard is it to pull off the door panels on a '00 XLT and wire speaker wire to the speakers?

Thanks for the help in advance, it is much appreciated.

Your front passanger side you can feed the wire through the tube that goes from the truck to the door, but on the driver side, it's just a big plug - we just cut a hole in the door and gasketed it to put a new wire through it.

It's as hard as you make it.
