Hello,

In the process of installing this new unit on my 01 Sport (AVIC-F900BT). My question is in regards to the parking break switch connection. Can I bypass this connection by simply grounding the line or must I make the connection properly and seek other means of bypassing the dvd shutoff to avoid any error messages on the unit. According to the install instructions the line must be connected to the power supply side of the parking break switch. I don't understrand how grounding this wire would work if it calls for the power side of the parking break switch.I was told that an error message would come on if i did not go by the proper install procedures.

Thanks in advance:rolleyes:

in order to bypass the arking brake you either need to install a toggle switch or a pulse time relay the avic's need to see an on off on sequence from the parking brake wire or else you wont have any video i used a relay in my explorer didnt wanna have an ugly toggle switch on my dash
