best way is to tap into rear speaker on same side as you will run your power to the battery. That way you dont have to run wires down both sides of interior. you can remove the sill plate and run cables

I ran my power wire thru the clutch cable hole behind the pedals and to the battery (remember to put an inline fuse)

luckily, the radio already had the orange wire (on when radio on) tapped into

when I did my subs (before I sold them) I used a speaker box since I wanted more than one sub

the hi-lo converter worked for me as my amp didnt have speaker level inputs

I ran 2 kicker comp vr 10's in a sub box with an MTX amp powering it...man THAT SLAMMED

this is actually the WORST way to do it, as you will get interference and noise in your signal due to the amperage in your 14v current.

run it on the OPPOSITE side of the car, as with any other system. im my X, i have my power coming through the firewall, to my passenger seat and the ground is there too (amp installed under the pass seat). this way, i only have a simple set of speaker wire going back to my 2 12" Type R's

if you are tapping the speakers, the power/ speaker wire only runs 1- 1.5 feet together

if you run it down the opposite side, where would you cross the power or speaker wire across?

I have a sport, incase I didnt mention that

It has an connector.
Theres a high input with a white female connector, and you can use that with the wires, or use RCAs.

i have heard the factory sub and it wasnt enough boom-shaka-lacka for me

at least when I was younger

Correct, but plugging a JL 8" with external amp to an aftermarket deck isn't a stock system. It's plenty loud unless you're going for competition... If I can rumble mirrors to where I can't see out of them, it's loud. :D
