installing a system (97xlt)

Ok, i'm good with wiring in the truck and i've already done an amp bypass and installed my own new infinity door speakers. I am now in the operation of installing a single Subwoofer system to give me that extra bass punch. I'm not looking for something huge that will pound i just want good clean louder bass that can hit the lows with ease.

I am going with the MTX 6000 sub 12"
I have a pretty decent insulated single 12 box
I'm getting a new amp kit
and I have a year or 2 old XPLOD amp (i know i know)

anyway im pretty sure this will give me what i need just for a little more bass...

MY QUESTION is this...

I know how to wire everything and where to run the wires etc.. but where/how is the best place/way to get the power cable from the amp to the battery??? I know u have to go through the firewall but where on a 97X (later model) is the best place to drill? can someone supply me some pics of how they have theirs drilled?

Also ----- you guys think this small system will do what im lookin for it to do?

On the firewall under the hood there is a grommit that has the hood releas cable running through it. That is where I have my 4 gauge wire running through.

Drivers side, just below and to the left (looking at it) of the brake master cylander (can't spell).

Here is where I pushed the cables through the grommet.

sweet thanks for all the replies... One last thing.. Instead of the 1-2 year old XPLOD amp im going to be getting my friends XPLOD it's brand new, like 750w or something.. it did well for his 2 12's.. im using it for my one 12.. would that make a good system for the MTX6000 and the XPLOD amp and new wiring kit?
