Installing message center

I have a 2004 XLT and I only have the first group of buttons for 4x4 auto, 4x4 high, and 4x4 low. My question is how hard would it be to install and get working the second set of buttons for the message center. They read info, setup, and reset.

If I read correctly, it should be plug'n'play. Even if your particular sub-model did not come with it, the harness is there.

My '02 didn't come with the message center and there is no harness in the dash. The instrument cluster also lacks the message center. I'm guessing, if it could be done, it may not be worth the time, effort, & $$$.

Just my opinion.
