Installing towing wiring...

Item# HY40325 is the one you need, just unplug the plug going to the taillights and install the tee connector and plug the harness into the tee. Did one on my 95 exploder and 97 ranger. Piece of cake 10 minute job.

Taillights?...you mean the little lights on the bumper or the actual driver side taillight?

Which harness are you referring too? As my original picture shows...I have the gray round plug that branches off to the smaller bumper lights only. So if disconnect those from the gray round plug and insert T-connector (#40325) and then reconnect those original bumper lights? Or are you talking about another wire or harness?

Adding this pic for future reference.

If you have a '97 or earlier, you may have this harness. That plug on the back of the crossmember is where the flat-4 jumper plugs into. The 2 lengths that have no connectors on then end would go to the license plate lights on the bumper.
