Installing winch. Any tips? Also I have a few questions.

I know its pretty straight forward, just wondering if any one has tips of what not to do and what to watch out for.

I guess I only have one question. My bumper has the feedthru for the cable, but the bumpers edge is kinda sharp and don't want it to mess the cable up. So do I just round the edges with a file or grinder or do I make the opening bigger. It looks fine from top to bottom but Im worried at pulling at akward angles (left and right). It is a roller fairlead. So lets hear the comments and advice! Thanks!

I'd take the grinder to it and open the hole up.

Ummm, it is. I'm worried about the bumper messin up the cable. The width of the opening vs. the roller fairlead is about 1/2 to small. 1/4" each side.

Gotta love that quick editing . Open the hole up and protect the cable. The last thing you want is the cable rubbing the bumper and snapping under full load. That will do a LOT of damage to anything it hits.

Understood. I will open it up to make sure the cable touches nothing but the rollers. I was just going to grind the bumper so the edges were rounded but its to critical. I will open it up. thanks.
