I'm going to change my alternator (94 Explorer 2wheel drive).

I see three bolts on it plus the elecrical connections. Does anyone have some tips or instructions on replacing it? I'd like to avoid any common mishaps if there are any.

Thanks everyone,
Dennis

Disconnect the battery ground before any work is attempted.

It was relatively easy on my '98. Not sure how it is on the '94. The only hard thing was loosing the tension on the tensioner. Once I figured out which way to turn it, it was easy. If in doubt, buy a repair manual. Comes in handy. The alt took me about 45 mins to take out. It took like 5 mins to put back in.

I did this a few weeks ago. Pretty straight forward. I took of the air tube and the positive Bat cable. Took about ½ hr.
