Hey everyone!

I have a '00 Explorer XLT 4dr. no mods. except for the attempt below. I have had it for about 6mos, and 15k miles that I have put on it, 119k total.

I switched out my insturment cluster last night for one with the white background. And when I turn the switch to the 'on' position or start the truck the speedometer jumps to about 16-17mph as a Zero starting point. I got the the cluster from a friend trying to use it in his 96 ranger, but it wasn't compatable. Everything works fine except for the speedometer ordeal. There is a sticker on the bottom of the cluster with a Aug. 00 date on it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or if there is something messed up with the cluster.

Thanks,
Chad

I think there must be something wrong with the cluster, because I have a cluster from an 02 in my 96, and it works fine. You could take a look at the back and see if anything looks wrong, or if anything is being grounded, or connected where it shouldn't be.

Both clusters look the same right? Aka all the same gauges in the same spots

Yeah, everything is is the same places, and works, except for the speedo.
