Does insurance generally cover bad things caused by offroading incidents?

I flooded my engine with water offroad and ruined it. Insurance covered what it cost to buy a used motor and have it installed and a $100 deductible. But our insurance plan is really nice and very comprehensive. I guess it would vary on a case by case basis.

However, they would not pay to get it running correctly again.

Just have one of your buds drag your X on to the middle of Main St. Then have him give you a ride home. Then call the police and tell them that you believe your explorer has been stolen.

This sounds terrible, but a friend of mine did this exact thing with his full size Bronco, and it worked. But as always, honesty is the best policy!

Insurance covered my truck the first time I rolled and totalled it offroading. The second time, I didn't want to press my luck, so I paid out of pocket to rebuild it.

Was that considered an "at fault" accident? Did your premiums go up?

I got stuck

I was in a hole or water right up to the bottom of the doors almost coming in the vehicle and my insurance paid to have a tow truck go wheeling and get me out of it. It turned out that the hole i had gotten into wasnt a few inches after all :) water is very tricky. It was about 1 foot water and 1 foot mud. The total bill was roughly 140 or somthing no deduct on it. I got lucky :)

I suppose it was considered 'at fault'. I was the only vehicle involved. :o The premiums didn't go up until later when my wife dinged a parked BMW and left a note and the guy went thru our insurance. That made three claims in too short of a time period. I forget what the first one was. Premiums should drop when one drops off the record later this year.

normally they will cover it as a comprehensive claim or at fualt....but if it is done at a state park, you will not get a ticket for an at fualt accident and it wont go on your record thus if insurance doesnt know about it..they will never find out....
