My 95 is still going strong but it is not my daily driver. In fact it sits in the driveway often for weeks at a time. And I pay standard insurance rates on it all year round like my daily driver.
I also have a Ford based RV and it cost just $90 to insure for an entire year, with mileage restrictions. This got my wondering.
Is there any rule against insuring an Explorer as a class B motorhome? A class B motor hone is nothing more then a van with a bed in them, often converted unprofessionally.
The mileage restrictions would not be an issue considering how often I use it.

In Connecticut, to register as a camper the unit must have a built-in toilet. As for insurance, that's between you and your agent although if for some reason they write an RV policy for the truck, good luck expecting anything in return, forbid you need to enter a claim.

Here in NJ I have my 2nd vehicle insured under recreation use only with Gieco. Just tell the ins co. That it's not your primary use vehicle and they should be able to classify it as such with reduced costs.

Um, there's a difference between insuring for recreational use (as all my vehicles are, since I have a co. vehicle) and insuring it as an RV
