Last 12 months cost me £170 with Sureterm (owned by Lancaster), just got my renewal. Nothing has changed in circumstances and they want £479!

Just looked around on the compare sites and found it for £205, with........... Lancaster!

Anyone any other good prices and companies?

Just got my first ex, i,am fifty this year, insured it for £196 with the AA.

That doesnt sound bad at all
Sorry i meant to put, I'm 45, 4 years no claims, in west yorkshire.

That was also off the compare site, i must admit i hate dealing with insurance companies, as they are the biggest con-merchants going.

Don't get me started
I pay just over £400 and have full no claims and never had an accident (other than non fault, stationary and being hit). I am 41 and a professional driver for my job. Car is parked on driveway in a good area
Go figure

You should shop around, should certainly be less than that on compare.com

Sorry to resurrect older thread, but just renewed one of our Explorers (2000 Northface) for £149 with the RAC. Two drivers 41 and 39 no claims, no convictions, rural postcode, sub 10k mileage.
Last year was £198 with Swinton - they quoted £240 this year.

Just for fun i have just done a quote with gocompare. Best is kwikfit @£307 which is a ton cheaper than last year but still nowhere near some of you are quoted. RAC quoted £396

I am 41, never had a claim except a windscreen a couple of years back, offer £250 voluntary excess, licence over 20yrs, home owner, parked on drive in good area (i checked the postcode against insurance codes).

I think the problem is i don't have a wife and i don't have a girl on the policy. mmm i may try with my mum on there....

I'm paying too much!!

Thing is I know the mileage jacks it up - I did some experiments with online quotes - and I do 16k just to work and back so I really can't cut it back or lie about it!

Jan, I suspect being a driver probably counts against you more than helps - there's all kinds of weirdness behind insurance prices these days.

What makes me laugh (sort of) is when I get my renewal, I go for an online comparison and my company usually undercut themselves in the results!
