I have a coolant leak on my 1994 Explorer. Replaced water pump. Can't pinpoint leak (it's hidden), but it's coming from the driver's side front of the engine somewhere below the a/c compressor. Neighbor mechanic doesn't seem to wanna help, but he thought gasket leak in the upper or lower intake manifold. After replacing water pump, I can only drive about 1-2 miles before experiencing total loss of power. I sit on the side of the road for 5 minutes at idle and then I can go again. Any ideas?

You may want to try to look around the front of the motor at the lower intake, to see if there's any coolant around the front of the lower intake pooling up. Hope this helps you out.
