I just replaced the intake manifold on my 2003 Mountaineer (pta). I labeled all the vacuum lines and electrical connectors very carefully before disassembly and got it all back together correctly, but when I started it I was barely able to and it ran AWFUL. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you disconnect the battery and let the computer reset itself? Also check all of the connectors to the IAC, throttle sensor, injectors, and cops. if something is loose the computer may get faulty data.

Sounds like you still have an open hole somewhere sucking in extra air.

Check for any open ports tomorrow with a clear head.

Thanks for your reply. I did just realized today that I didn't have the MAF sensor hooked up. I haven't tried to require it up yet because I'm trying to remove the number 7 spark plug to check it and for some reason there's so much gunk down there that I can't get a socket on it. Not sure what to do on that one other than getting a can of carb and choke cleaner with the little spray wand on it and trying to loosen the stuff up a little bit. I tried putting it out with a little thin Pokey thing I had with it's even not thin enough to get between the spark plug in the sides and it's probably just packing the gunk deeper.
