Has anyone here ever tried, or heard of someone trying to relocate the air intake to someplace like the grill at the base of the windshield (cowl) as an alternative to a snorkel? I know that there are hood scoops available that would allow someone to fab a connection for a cool air intake. But short of buying a new hood, would that grill at the base of the windshield be worth considering?
I don't go creek slogging anywhere, but I know that my Limited can handle most of the flooding conditions caused in New Jersey whenever four people spit at the same time.
This is the ideal safety factor that would have gotten me through a lot more places last year. I have already rerouted and extended my diff and tranny vent tubes, so this would be the last thing needed.
