just wondering about the explorer interior and hood for a 96 EB. Are these parts able to change with a 95+. i would assume that you could b/c ford did not change the interior through out those years, but i was wondering if the bolt holes were the same for the interior. maybe someone has done this swap before. thanks

Some things are, some things aren't. If you list specific parts, we can tell you if they are interchangable.

ok here is a part list..its pretty simple
i have a 96 eb and these are the parts i wish to replace
-front and pass seats
-rear seat
-hood
-whole liftgate

like i said before it looks like 95+ would be ok, but maybe not? thanks for replying

Front seats: 92-01 4 door and 92+ Sport
Rear seats: 91-01 4 door I believe
Hood: 95-01 2 or 4 door
Rear hatch: 95-97, 91-94 if you don't mind the old style 3rd brakelight.

Seatbelt latches were changed for the '98 MY Explorers so you may want to check and make sure.

thank you very much for your quick response!

Won't a '98+ hatch bolt onto a '97- one? You just gotta change the tail lights?

I don't think the 98+ taillights bolt exactly up to the 97- quarterpanels.

hey will 2nd gen. tail gates bolt to a 1st gen? i know the latch handles are different but what about the rest. my tailgate is rusted all the way through on the very bottom so instead of fixing it i can just replace the whole thing with a newer one.

A 95-97 hatch will bolt to a 91-94. 98+ hatches are different.

thanx for the info and also i was wandering about the dog house will that bolt up from a 95-97 or will take some fabrication to get that to work right. do i need radiator support and all or just grille, fenders, and hood.

dog house? Never heard that term used before.

To switch your early model over to a late model front, you'll want to use the kit from Perry's Fab n' Fiber. It is a fiberglass conversion kit. You can get everything from Perrys, or you can get their hood and grille and use 95-01 metal fenders, but you'll need to drill new holes in the fenders to get them to line up.
