interchangeable transmissions

I have a 2003 mercury mountaineer 4x2 4.0 v6. Transmission is going out on it and I'm trying to figure out what transmissions are interchangeable with what I have. Thanks.

Go to the main page for stock Explorers. Near the bottom of the screen you see who's online and viewing. To the right it'll list moderators. Click on the name and PM. It shows [MENTION=134770]BigRondo[/MENTION] right now. You can also go into the drive train forum and find its moderator. JK080 or something I believe.
