Interested in getting an Explorer

I'm highly interested in purchasing myself a Ford Explorer and I am not all that knowledgeable when it comes to SUVs or cars in general so I have joined here to seek help.

I've been looking on craigslist the past few days and this listing struck me as a good purchase.

Is that a good vehicle? Is it worth waiting around to look for the "Limited?" I'm not even sure what the difference between the different versions are (XLT, Eddie Bauer, Limited). Can somebody tell me the difference?

I'm definitely going to be doing modifications on this said vehicle when I recieve it. The following are just a few ideas:
-CarPC
-Halo LEDS
-HID Lights
-Blacked out lights
-Black rims
-Other misc. accesories

I would greatly appreciate any help you would be willing to give me. Thanks.

Welcome to this forum! There are different trim levels. Each one is a little fancier, and adds to the cost of it.

Everyone is different, but a big turn-off for me for the '97 and older Explorers is the back hatch. I'm not too partial to the 4.0 engine either.

I wish you lived closer to me... I've been contemplating selling mine to purchase a 3rd gen.

looks like a nice truck to me but you can never tell in til you see it in person and drive it.
