Oh Yeah I am so in the Land of off-roading and Dont know where to take it first...

very nice! congrats. :D

congratulations

Ok Kris Congrats on finally getting that done, we've all followed your unfinished posts about your 4x4 conversion. But I have a question that no one else is going to ask in this after seeing this picture. How did you get two cup holders? I think I read somewhere that you got it from a newer explorer but what year specifically and how did you get it to fit? I'm guessing I can do the same thing if I find one in the salvage yard but I wanted to know what year and how much of that center console is still original.

Again congrats on the 4x4 and give me some pointers on how to allow my passengers to have a cup holder as well.
By the way I have a "92"

Robert

OK, It is very easy to do. The only part that is new on the console is the black peice it will just replce the current one found in you Explorer. Be sure to get the screws witht the peice because they are longer. You can get the peice at a salvage yard. But needless to say they are now out of them here... The ford Dealer sells it for $40.00

The years that is cup holder was in the Explorer was late 92-94. Early 92 Explorers had the single.

I have the 2 cup holders myself. Ok Kris, now that the manuals in, what makes it better than my push button? (93 Mazda Navajo Manual)

The Reliability of the 4x4 System. With the two Elec componets on the push button if the Shift motor fails in your Explorer/Navajo it is not going to get you any were that a 2wd cant. With the Manual T-case I dont have to worry if my motor (that has the power of a windshield wiper) is going to shift my car in to 4x4.

Plus, the cost of a replacement computer will kick you very hard (about $400).
