I am in dire need of getting the inside plastic panneling off on the hatch of my 99 sport. I need to begin prep work for the dent that has occured on the outside from the trail. Will i need a special tool to remove it? Some cars that i have owned in the past needed special tools to remove interior plastics. All help needed!

Thanks,Jon

Which panels are you looking to remove?

if we are talking about the same thing they are just pop rivets and screws. Tools needed: screwdriver pliers.......or if you have a pop rivet tool.

I am talking about the interior plastic that has vents in it.

Pros use pannel poppers, you can use a spatula or a fat, flat head screwdriver.

I believe you are talking about the lift gate trim pannel. So just remove the pull handle ( two phillips screws ) and walk your way around the pannel.

Here are some examples of pannel poppers. Worth every penny. Every tool box needs at least one of these.
