Simple question. I want to change my interior lights from the stock white to red (since red light doesn't interfer with night vision). The problem is where do I find red bulbs that'll fit? I can't seem to find the correct size. If I can't find red bulbs do you all think that the transparent red paint some of you all have used to mod your tail lights would work?

THanks
CP :D

You can get them on eBay. 168, 158, and 194 will all fit. Before I got some off of eBay I tried painting the bulbs and the paint begin smoking and almost caught on fire. Not sure if you ment paint the bulb or the plastic lens covering it.

I replaced all my interior bulbs with red #194 bulbs that work just fine. They were a little smaller size than the origionals, but the base was the same.

i painted all my interior bulbs with a high temperature paint made for items like engine manifolds and stuff like that. ive had no problem with any of the bulbs smoking and ive had them in my x for about 4 years.

you can but colored interrior bulbs at auto zone or advance auto parts. just take the stock bulb in and match t, i KNOW they sell colored bulbs there, thats where i got mine. but i also wired neon tubes off the dome light behind drivers seat. so they come on when you open door, its brighter and looks cool.

If you paint the actual lense it will have the same effect, but will be permanent..... Had mine blue....
