I like leather. I have kids and I think that the leather is easier to clean and it wears nicely.

Leather, looks a lot more classy. But when my clothes are all wet I worry a lot about the leather more than I would if I had cloth.

Leather! It holds up better with all the dirt ETC. that I grind on my seats! My Ex has Velour!!! What a pain in the BUTT!!! It stains so fast!!! But it sure cleans up well!!!

CLOTH!

easier to clean
easier to repair
easier to amintain
not cold on a cold mornin

I have an 04 Eddie Bauer. I wish it had cloth seats. They are much softer than leather. The heated leather is okay, but you do not need that with cloth. Suede would be the hardest to keep clean. I had an 04 Cobra with suede inserts. Even the details said they would be hard too clean if I got them dirty. So my grandson never got in the Cobra. That is why I got my Explorer

Leather!

I just wish my '94 had heated ones.

I envy those of you with leather whenever I half to clean up mud, or a kids spilled food or drink.
However I had leather in my 5 liter mustang as a teen.
It was cold as H*!! in the winter,
hot as h*!! in the summer,
it cracked in the back for lack of proper care
and worst of all it was not conductive to the movement of naked bodies

Hated that leather, kinda wish I had it now.

Cloth.
  1. Stays cool in summer.
  2. Won't freeze your A$$ in the dead of winter.
  3. Much more cost efficient to repair or replace.

I see there is none of us who have torn our seat cloth off yet ay??? Me neither but i just felt like saying that. I like cloth, You dont slid around you dont freak out about dropping you twinkie, it stays a nice temp and if i ever climbed into a cold x with leather here im sure it would crack and fall off the seat. I dont know how durable leather seats are but it just seems like that would happen cuz it gets so dam cold (got to -60 with the wind chill this year celcius)

Cloth..Have you ever sat on a leather seat that has been in the 118 degree heat at Laughlin on the Colorado river? It burned the hair on my legs and got a blister on my back! :fire: Thank god my shorts were wet or I for sure would have lost a nut or two and my ass would be :mattmoon:

What he said goes for me too!
:)

But the worst thing about cloth seats is that it creates a whole lot of static electricity, especially in the winter because winters are pretty dry. Whenever you get off the car, you just have to prepare to get shocked unless you get off the truck while your hand is wrapped around the door frame, that will keep you from getting shocked. One great reason for me to get a car with leather next time around.

I have cloth right now, but I think leather would be a cool swap. The leather in the 1st gen Xs I've seen seems like pretty stiff stuff. Like something you'd make a baseball glove out of. I think this would be great stuff for seats. On the other hand, if its the soft supple leather like the stuff thats in my dads Bonneville, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with it.
