Intermittent miss

Hi, 01 Ranger 4.0L SOHC 66K Miles. Recently I have a miss or shudder when accelerating, also the engine will not rev over 3000 rpm. It almost seems like a rev limiter has kicked in. Any suggestions? Fuel pump and filter were replaced and there are no codes. Thanks

..I would first try reading the codes anyways..

..My first thoughts are it will be an electrical issue but being able to scan while your engine is running may show some more information..

Did you change the plugs and wires? These engine doesn't like anything but ORIGINAL, "Motorcraft" plugs. Try replacing those or put the old one back in.

I am now getting codes, p0442, b0849 & c0001. I clear the codes and they return after 15 miles.
