Newbie - so be gentle - been following this site since I acquired my truck, back in November - looks great, full of wise heads. Few niggles already solved, but one 'major' one is doing my head in, so I need to fix!

On start-up , speedo needle moves gently (~1sec) from zero up to 52mph, then sits there. If I'm on a longish run (more than 20min) the speedo sometimes corrects itself and starts to show the speed correctly. But not always. And sometimes it goes back to 52mph.

Gently wacking the top of the cluster somtimes knocks the needle down a few mph, but it then creeps up, always to the same speed.

I can happily use the cruise control, and the ABS light never comes on, whilst the needle is stuck, so I'm pretty sure it can't be the differential-mounted speed sensor..or can it?

Similarly, all other dash lights, switchgear, tacho and odometer are working fine, so a 'bad earth' is unlikely ....or is it?

Seen the posts and vids on cluster removal (PITA), so before I do this - any wise thoughts, guys? Many thanks.:(

....still crossing my fingers that someone out there can shed light on my 'Ghost in the Machine'.....
