I've had my stock cd player for 2 years and it's time to move on. I was looking into a few pioneer cd players, but then I started thinking of adding an iPod. I know that Kenwood has the music keg, but it's alot of money to drop.

So my question is what is required of the cd player to hook up an iPod? Anyone done it to any of their cars? Also, can you add any MP3 to the iPod or do you have to purchase the ones to add?

Thanks for any help, Beau

If you have an aux on the back of your HU bestbuy sells a plug in for ipod's $20 I saw them today when I bought my radio

The iPod will take MP3's. Heh...it can swallow up to 10k songs.

I know iPod has a site you can DL songs off of. My question is, can I use and format mp3 or can I only use the ones I purchase off the iPod site?

I don't understand what you're talking about but I'll try my best to answer your question. If you're talking about iTunes, then you can just buy their music then download it to the iPod and whatever MP3's you have in your hard drive.

yes, you can put any mp3 file you already had onto an ipod, you will just have to import the files into the itunes program, which comes with the ipod, or you can download it for free online. it is really quite easy.

You can import any of your own audio CDs into the iTunes program, then transfer them to the iPod. You can also use any MP3, AAC, or even AIFF or WAV audio files, but MP3s are usually the best. WMA files are not supported.

For an aftermarket CD player all you would need would be one that has an AUX IN jack somewhere on it. My Aiwa radio in my Ranger has one on the front, go to Radio Shack or Best Buy and get a cable that has headphone plugs on each end and connect the two to play them through the car audio system.

Husky, that guy was wrong. It will convert the WMA files to iTunes itself. UNLESS they are protected, then you're screwed.

Alright my hand hurts from moving all my files to the iTunes folder and then having to rename ALL songs. Is there any way that you can customize this so you don't have to rename them and they stay the same way they did in other folders?
